AVON PARK, Fla. (December 22, 2017) – Seattle Mariners outfielder and Avon Park native, Dee Gordon, hosted his fourth annual hometown basketball tournament at the City Park on E Hal McRae Blvd. in Avon Park, Florida on Saturday.

With over 1,000 locals in attendance, the event included a 10-team tournament, free food, drinks and activities for children. Funds raised from the event benefited the Boys & Girls Club of Highlands County.

The annual event is Gordon’s way of continuing a family tradition started by his father, former Major League pitcher, Tom “Flash” Gordon.  Dee Gordon passionately supports the Boys & Girls Club of Highlands County, as he is an alumnus of the organization and believes in the importance of its integral role in the community.
